I have been involved in the fitness industry for over 30 years. I instruct a wide variety of fitness disciplines in classes at sports leisure clubs as well as privately in Yorkshire. In addition to being a fitness instructor, I am also a Sports Physiotherapist and a Complementary Practitioner.
I have experienced an extensive training to qualify at Master’s level in Sports Therapy. I have had advanced training in physiotherapy to apply more progressive techniques in my treatment. As an active and professional practitioner and through continued professional development I offer the highest level of service utilising the latest medical research, to treat injuries.
I apply different classifications in my treatment, introducing all different methods of techniques that underpin my various training to generate more affective results for my clients. I have studied at length back problems and rehabilitation procedures. This facilitates me to utilize specialised functional techniques to treat spinal problems and impede recurring pain.
My clientele base consists of people from all lifestyles. This includes a large variety of sports people both professional and amateur. My work consists of working with professional boxers, footballers, rugby players to international level, WWF wrestling, basketball, power lifters and professional cyclists. I have worked with television people and this includes the Gladiators from ITV.
I am a former tutor and taught within adult education. I have taught Sports Massage, Sports Therapy, Anatomy, Physiology, Health, and Fitness.
I integrate Pilates into my exercise and rehabilitation programmes. I have studied Pilates for 15 years and I am a level three Pilates instructor. This enables me to actively incorporate evidence-based exercises to clients in both one-to-one and class settings.
I have worked in the fitness industry for 30 years, instructing a wide variety of classes in health clubs and privately. Part of my work is with special needs groups and I devise Exercise referral programmes for their individual needs. I am now working with Anti and Postnatal groups and my responsibility is to design particular exercises to deliver in a class format for these people.
Back and Neck Pain:- Headaches, sciatica, back pain, whiplash, spinal stiffness or pain, prolapsed disc, wear and tear.
Joint Problems:- Arthritis, stiffness post activity or exercise, injury or swelling.
Over-use Injuries:- Repetitive strain, Tendonitis, work related injuries.
Post-operation or Fracture:- Pain and restriction can be reduced and normal movement restored.
Posture and Relaxation:- Poor posture can be re-aligned to reduce pain and stiffness.
Pre and Post Natal Problems:- Any problems associated with pregnancy can be treated and exercises programmes can be created to help restore previous levels of fitness.
Sports Injuries:- Any age, any sporting injury to muscles, tendons, ligaments or joints will be fully assessed and training specific rehabilitation undertaken.
